- I'm a poet and also a fiction and nonfiction writer. I conduct writing workshops for emerging and intermediate writers. I believe stories must be told in order for us to experience life fully. I grew up in the Washington, D.C. area and graduated from Virginia Tech. I moved south to Charleston after graduation and learned how to waitress, drive a car, and sail in the Holy City. A few years later, I also learned how to catch a shoplifter in Myrtle Beach, SC. I now live in Raleigh with my husband and son.
